OOOH. Tide Pools.
Tide Pools. When we were small, my mother would take all of us to explore the tide pools in Cohasset, Massachusetts. Ever since then, I have been bewitched. Tide pools are like little civilizations.
So, we found oodles of captivating civilizations on the Olympic Peninsula. (If you haven't been, the Olympic Peninsula is crazy - it is remote remote remote - and absolutely breathtaking). Well, these civilizations starred star-fish, sea-anemones, flocks of seaweed, barnacles, clams, and crabs - wonders.
Yes, it is true...in my mind I enacted scenarios of certain star-fish rising to power and reigning with the civilizations. These chosen star-fish seemed to be the most fair-minded and community-focused. These were my protagonists:
She was the queen of my world.

Thanks so much for sharing these images (and your thoughts!) What an incredible place...it was like being there with you...
There is something so peaceful about grayness, clouds, ocean and weather that requires a jacket and scarf. I would love to visit there someday. I've only been to the ocean one time and it was one of my favorite things I've ever done. How did it feel to hold a live starfish? I've always wondered.
Em, I'm so grateful for your blog. I love to see what you're all doing. Thank you.
Hey, you catch Patrick! Where is SpongeBob?
