Oppède-le-Vieux

Oppède-le-Vieux is a tiny village in the Luberon that seems to be suspended in time. It is right up against the Petit Luberon mountains, nestled in for protection. Its church and chateau date back to the 12th century. Especially off-season (tourists flock here in July and August), this place is really special. I’ve taken numerous visitors to eat at Le Petit Café - a proper restaurant (almost singular in the village) with a picturesque terrace and perfect roses and wall climbing plants. Eating there and taking in just the walls and shutters hanging around is something out of a dream. The town's palette is color-pitch perfect.

We recently ventured there for lunch with the girls and Xavier's family. Cartwheels and sisters and yellow umbrellas mixed with the roses and delicious baskets of food at Le Petit Café - beauty all around.
