Place du Carrousel.

This sunset was a traffic stopper - in the Place du Carrousel (of the Louvre) - where the traffic normally bolts over the cobblestone in a mad dash for the other side (and the cell phone of a simple bicycling girl can all too easily glide out of secure spots in a bag with all the caroming - yes, on several occasions). But this night - cars were literally slowing long enough to look and cell phones were staying put. See, if you start on rue de Rivoli side, you sit there on the dark side of the castle, waiting for the light to turn green in order to enter through the gates - the arched passageways. The passageways are pretty long tunnels that make holes through wings of the Louvre. They seem long, at least on a bike with cars chasing you from behind. When you break on through, this tremendous square - with the Louvre at its center (rectangle, I guess) awaits. And this sunset if you were around tonight. One time I lost my shoe bike riding here. Some nice gentleman got out of his car not to run it over, causing severe traffic problems.

The reflection in the window of the cheesiest entity in Paris was pretty amazing. Most people around me didn't see it and thought I was taking pictures in the wrong direction because you had to be standing in this particular 3-foot square in order to witness the thing in the glass facing itself in the sunset. It was like a rainbow, I tried to run after it, but by the time I reached the window or just changed positions slightly, it was gone.

The Eiffel tower is a bit cheesy, but iconic nonetheless. This is the coolest photo of it to date.

Miss you Em.

I loved the sunset shots! Isn't like praying when you have moments like that? There is such a reverence for God's handiwork. Thanks...
