Raclette.

Here is an idea: throw a raclette party. Our raclette party was both a throwback to my Swiss heritage and our days in Paris, where we had a raclette machine and would often buy a half a wheel of raclette cheese for such an occasion. Xavier recently bought a raclette machine - not with a huge wheel - but with small cooking trays, which you use to scrape off the melted cheese onto a plate of potatoes or prosciutto and ham. We couldn't find raclette at Eataly, but Whole Foods had chunks of it. And the cornichons - oh the cornichons.

YUM. Your raclette party looks delicious!
Eataly sounds out of this world. Is it all it's cracked up to be? Do they have scantily clad dancers? And overly spray-tanned, balding politicians to ogle them? :)

That looks divine. I remember we were going to do that in Paris, but never got the chance. Looks like we should have stayed longer.

Wish I could have been there for what looks like a delectable meal.

We had a little party in Switzerland last year with Brent's cousin & wife. Great food and such fun! Thanks for the sharing your memories.

...and to add some gender confusion, we say LE raclette for the cheese itself and LA raclette for the melted-cheese dish.

By thanking you.

Oooo, Raclette! But I must say I do not like Eataly. I have seen Raclette at West Side Market at 110 and Broadway. They have a really good cheese section.

Aralena - I like Eataly. I don't like how crowded Eataly is, but I think it is a pleasure to shop there and buy beautiful produce and cheese and meats. The rest of Italy (thank goodness) has been left aside - just thoughtfully chosen tomatoes and pasta products are to be found ;)
