Sometimes I use a Nikon SLR (a D300 when I'm lucky), but mostly I just use a little Canon point and shoot (an SD790 IS). The most convenient thing to do is just throw my little camera in my bag and run around with it that way. From my untrained perspective, I think the two most important things in photography are light and composition, not necessarily the camera in hand. That said, I am really looking into a Canon S90 and think I'll buy it (on the recommendation of a very good friend and photographer).
Thanks Emilie ! Whatever you use your photos look great. I am just starting to get to know my Canon 50d for bird photography and I use a Sony Cybershot 10x zoom for day-to-day (a camera I love). The Canon S90 you mention looks terrific and has great features! Amelia

Joy! My absolute FAVORITE tree! Please take pix of it when the blooms open!
