Sometimes Parisians will refer to their city as "Paname." You might hear, "Moi je suis de Paname" (I'm from Paname). What is the connection between Panama and Paris? Excellent question.
Could be a song called, "Paris Paname."
Could be a reference to the Panama Hat, which became popular in Paris after the world fair in 1855.
Even Napoleon III took a liking to these hats.
But I don't really know, to be honest. A great name for the City of Light though.
